Shiraz

Shiraz (or syrah) wine is produced from the dark-skinned syrah grape.

As a general rule, in the US and Australia wines are labelled Shiraz, and in European wines are labelled Syrah.

The wines that made Syrah famous were those from Hermitage, the hill above the town Tain-l'Hermitage in northern Rhône.
